Inspired by bygone eras, Drashell (Shell) Schmidt focuses on ways to incorporate art and design with her two brands, SalvageScapes and The Old and the Elegant. She uses various vintage graphics, antique patterns and fine art restorations in her work that are influenced by the Victorian, Art Nouveau, Art Deco, Renaissance and other historic time periods.
Shell has a diverse background in interior design, remodeling and a former career in luxury hospitality. Many of her current and favorite projects today include collaborations with historic renovations and the creation of bespoke options for retro and nostalgic home decor.
