This was a website redesign for The Original Tin Ceiling Company, a long-time distributor of metal ceiling products. Through they apparently didn’t appreciate my fig-leaf motif and the puns on “Original Sin” I tried to weave throughout the site, the site still stands as a classy and informative site in its industry.
Some interesting features of the site are its custom AJAX materials-list builder (essentially a shopping cart, without the e-commerce functionality) and a couple different unique ways to visualize ceiling configurations.
I took most of the pictures with my Sony A500 camera… rigged up some real ghetto lightboxes to be able to shoot shiny patterned metal without being blinded by the glare. (Bolts of surplus fabric from JoAnn’s, one-by-three pine frames, and halogen worklamps… it did wonders! I spent weeks, if not months, photographing shiny metal countertops, appliances, ceilings, and if I hadn’t figured out that trick, I would have been spending ridiculous amounts of time in Photoshop retouching all these pictures.)
A fairly basic website, but its not bad for the time and place.
