James Bars is a Christian inspirational writer and self-publisher. He has written a couple of books describing his journey from burnout and addict to spiritually fulfilled grownup through faith. With his latest book, 3-3-3 You Are Free!!!, he decided to produce a companion volume, a “Life Planner” which includes weekly reminders to focus on joy and healing and Bible verses relating to the subject of choosing joy.

The Life Planner book is organized with a “musical score” theme to it. Notes pages are designed to look like musical staves, reinforcing the “Love Notes / Grace Notes” concept. The floral background is a grounding function as well.

In addition to the Life Planner design, I also worked on cover design for both the main book and the companion volume, created index listings for the main book, and produced ebook files for the main book.
Numbers and type logos throughout were set in Sloop Three by Richard Lipton, and headlines and subheads were set in Adobe’s Warnock Pro.
I also worked with Jim to design and develop his website, 333youarefree.com. The website offers each of his books for sale, and includes a blog and forums.
